Ricardo Alario was born in Quart de Poblet. Valencia 1959 and lives in Marbella since 1964
He started off his painting career guided by the landscape maestro San Juan Perdiguero. He attended as independent candidate the School of Arts and Crafts of Seville and Granada. In 1984 he performed his first screen printing series in his own studio.
In 1986 he formed, together with artist Pedro Ramírez, “Grupo ART’S”, a screen printing studio located in San Pedro Alcantara, Marbella.
He has coordinated and managed various exhibiting spaces that have invigorated Marbella’s artistic offer such as Galeria Akelarre, where he organised from 1997 to 1999 a series of exhibitions that put the town in contact with the work of artists that excelled by their contemporaneity, both at the local and national scale.
In 2003 he was appointed director of Galeria Silvart, where he coordinated engraving workshops that offered the latest techniques developed in Europe by local and international artists, such as engravers Alicia Diza Rinaldi and Leonardo Gotleib.
Since the opening of his studio in 1982, he has organised a wide range of exhibitions where many local artists taught and currently teach techniques in various specialised workshops.
He has performed engraving and screen printing series for artists in Marbella. A large number of young people have trained with Ricardo and currently hold degrees in Fine Arts, Architecture or have become designers or artists with an exhibiting activity.
Ricardo Alario has demonstrated his creativity as graphic designer and his pictorial originality in all the covers, invitations and posters of the numerous exhibitions he has organised. He has taken part and set in motion several collective projects with other artists, not only from Marbella but also from other places.
He has performed a remarkable muralist activity, which ranges from walls to domes in private buildings in Marbella.
Nowdays Ricardo Alario is the director of the Contemporary Art Gallery RGalería.
